Our laser cut aluminum plate with no burrs and not blacken. We do with our advanced fiber cutting machining and we use Nitrogen instead of Oxygen as the cutting assist gas. This is more suitable for your aluminum plate cutting. It can perfectly avoid the aluminum plate with blacken cut edges. We are able to cut the plate as thin to 0.05mm. Laser cut aluminum plate can apply with anodizing or plating or powder coating to make the surface more beautiful.

How to grantee a beautiful cutting edge to laser cut aluminum plate?

 

 

Do you always worry or received the laser cut aluminum plate with the edges appear blackened, yellowed, or uneven in color. It is NOT the silvery-white like the aluminum itself.

It is not a normal phenomenon. That caused the aesthetic defect, even welding especially for exterior components. The fundamental cause is the incorrect use of oxygen(O) as the cutting assist gas. O undergoes a vigorous exothermic reaction with aluminum, directly leading to severe oxidation of the cut edges, which subsequently manifests as black, yellow, or other abnormal discoloration. Actually, the use of oxygen is strictly prohibited when cutting aluminum alloys.

Aside from the incorrect use of oxygen, insufficient nitrogen purity is another major contributing factor. If the nitrogen used during cutting is contaminated with oxygen-even if oxygen was not intentionally selected as the assist gas-the trace oxygen present will still react with the aluminum material, resulting in abnormal discoloration of the cut edges.

So strictly choosing high-purity nitrogen (N₂) for "melt cutting." This is the only correct method for achieving the characteristic silvery-white finish on aluminum alloy cut edges, as it effectively prevents the oxidation reaction between oxygen and the aluminum material at the source.
