What is SLS?
SLS stands for Selective Laser Sintering. It is a mainstream powder-bed fusion 3D printing technology. Using high-power laser to selectively sinter plastic/Nylon/Metal powder layer by layer. Producing strong, durable functional parts, no extra support needed. Normally, a bin is filled with fine thermoplastic powder and a roller spreads a very thin, even layer of this powder across a build platform. A high-power laser scans the cross-section of the part. The laser heats the powder just enough to fuse the particles together without melting them completely (sintering). Then the platform drops down by one layer thickness (typically 0.1 mm). The roller spreads fresh powder on top. The laser sinters the next layer, bonding it to the one below. Finally, finish the printing and remove the part from the machine, brushes off the excess powder, and the part is ready.
