What is SLA
SLA stands for Stereolithography. It is a type of photopolymer resin 3D printing. Unlike FDM it uses ultraviolet (UV) laser light to cure liquid photosensitive resin layer by layer into solid plastic parts. Normally, a tank is filled with liquid photosensitive resin and build platform sits just above the bottom of the tank. Then a high-precision UV laser shines through the bottom of the tank, it traces the cross-section of the model onto the resin. Wherever the laser hits the liquid resin, the resin instantly solidifies (hardens) into a thin layer of solid plastic. The build platform lifts up slightly (by 0.05–0.1 mm). Fresh liquid resin flows under the part. The laser traces the next layer, bonding it to the previous one. Finally, printing to the real parts as you want.

FDM is low-cost and widely available, but its layer lines remain distinct, and post-processing is significantly more challenging.
